Notre Dame’s JV Girls Basketball Team Helps Out at Forgotten Harvest

Members of Notre Dame’s junior-varsity girls basketball team put in a couple of hard-working and “creative” service hours today at Forgotten Harvest’s main location in Oak Park, Mich.

Among the services completed today by the girls for Forgotten Harvest was creating and producing inspirational cards to accompany the deliveries of food to the area needy.

Sophomore Nadia Burbank coordinated the outing. JV coach Kathleen Offer, who also serves as Notre Dame’s director of admissions, said the team really enjoyed the opportunity to help “brighten the days of people who may not be as fortunate as we are.”

“Our team is full of cheerful young women,” Offer added. “So this was a great chance to share a bit of ourselves with others in our community. We realize how important it is to give of our talents, and we are grateful we were able to do this as a team.”

The JV team’s record currently is 9-6. They finished 4-2 in their league division, coming in second place. Their next game is February 20 at Ladywood, followed by games at Avondale (2/24) and home vs. Austin (2/27).
