NDP Students Finish Up CAD Program, Receive College Scholarships

Five students from Notre Dame Prep recently completed an advanced summer program sponsored by Dassault Systèmes CATIA, Ford Motor Co. and U of D Mercy that featured software used by Boeing, Ford, 3M, Tesla Motors and NASA to develop the next generation of products. Connor Cervone (12), Zachary Goldasich (11), Carly Joseph (12), Andre Palushaj (10) and Frank Sardelli (12) spent two weeks this month collaborating with fellow student participants from a parallel camp at the Georgia Institute of Technology to work on designs focusing on renewable energy, robotics, automobiles and other projects.

This summer camp introduced students to the latest design and collaborative software tools, including Dassault's CATIA DS V6 software, which is employed world-wide to design, test, and manufacture complex systems in a distributed environment. The Notre Dame students also received a four-year consecutive scholarship to any science or engineering program at U of D Mercy.

In May of this year, Notre Dame announced that it is using Dassault Systèmes' 3D Experience platform as part of its computer design curriculum. NDP is the first high school worldwide to initiate this engineering curriculum with the technologically advanced design platform. The platform includes applications for virtual design authoring, DELMIA for digital manufacturing, SIMULIA for realistic simulation and ENOVIA for collaborative innovation.
