Five students from Notre Dame Prep recently completed an advanced summer program sponsored by Dassault Systèmes CATIA, Ford Motor Co. and U of D Mercy that featured software used by Boeing, Ford, 3M, Tesla Motors and NASA to develop the next generation of products. Connor Cervone (12), Zachary Goldasich (11), Carly Joseph (12), Andre Palushaj (10) and Frank Sardelli (12) spent two weeks this month collaborating with fellow student participants from a parallel camp at the Georgia Institute of Technology to work on designs focusing on renewable energy, robotics, automobiles and other projects. NDP’s Zachary Goldasich is Skyping with fellow "campers” at Georgia Institute of Technology while working on his project model.
This summer camp introduced students to the latest design and collaborative software tools, including Dassault's CATIA DS V6 software, which is employed world-wide to design, test, and manufacture complex systems in a distributed environment. The Notre Dame students also received a four-year consecutive scholarship to any science or engineering program at U of D Mercy.
