On today's feast of the Annunciation of Mary, which marks the visit of the angel Gabriel to the Virgin Mary, during which he told her that she would be the mother of Jesus, Fr. John Hannan, s.m., the general superior of the Society of Mary (Marists), concelebrated Mass for the faculty and staff of Notre Dame. Fr. Strasz, left, shares a selfie with Fr. Hannan after Mass.
Hannan professed as a Marist in 1963 and was ordained a priest in 1968. He was twice named provincial superior of Ireland's Marists and also served as provincial superior of the combined European province.
