Danielle and Luke Mullis, a 2014 NDP graduate and incoming junior, respectively, have just returned from the Track Cycling National Championships in Los Angeles, where Luke took home five podium medals and Danielle won three national championship jerseys (points race, scratch race, and team sprint) as well as three additional podium medals.
In addition, USA Cycling on Monday announced that Danielle Mullis will join 11 other athletes scheduled to represent the United States at the 2014 UCI Juniors Track World Championships in Seoul, Korea, from Aug. 8-12.
Danielle broke a national record in the 250m sprint and also met the qualifying times enabling her to represent the U.S. in Seoul, Korea. After the big week in LA, Luke and Danielle flew to Madison, Wisconsin, to participate in the Road Cycling National Championships, where Luke Mullis finished 18th in the time trial out of over 80 boys, and Danielle came 7th and 5th in the time trial and criterium race.
In preparation for Junior Worlds in Korea, Danielle, who was an NDP valedictorian, will be spending time at the Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs.
