Student-athletes and recruiting

National recruiting expert to address parents and athletes at Notre Dame Sept. 10.

For many high school student-athletes, it's the ultimate dream: to earn an athletic scholarship to play their favorite sport at the collegiate level. Jack Renkens, a national recruiting expert who has been featured on numerous TV and radio shows across the country, says that more kids can play in college if they understand their options.

"High school student-athletes serious about continuing to play sports in college can never start too early, nor get too much help," Renkins said. "However, most students don’t know the recruiting game, NCAA rules or how to get matched with the best college for them. We hope to clarify recruiting myths and provide tips to parents and students serious about taking their high school athletics to the next level."

Renkens is coming to Notre Dame next Monday and parents and student-athletes are encouraged to attend the event, which will be held:

MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 10 AT 7 P.M.
NDPMA CAFETERIA

A 50-minute presentation will be made by Renkens to coaches, counselors, student-athletes and their families. Renkins has been helping families for nearly 20 years by revealing the sometimes messy process behind college recruiting. He will give families the straight talk on actual scholarship offers, NCAA Eligibility Center, recruiting letters, home recruiting visits, official paid visits, traveling clubs, summer showcases, and more.

More about Renkens.
