Six upper division choir students from Notre Dame will perform solos at the MSVMA State Vocal Solo and Ensemble competition this Saturday, March 19, at Howell High School. These students earned the right to compete at the state level when they were awarded an “Excellent” or “Excellent Superior” rating at the District Solo and Ensemble competition in January. The six student-singers are sophomore Emily Finn (10), senior Joseph Isaac, sophomore Faith Knill, junior Laura Lund, sophomore Emily Macks and freshman Rowland Scheessele.
At the state level competition, the students will sing two prepared songs, with one of the songs being sung in a foreign language. They also will sight-read music they have not seen before as part of the competition.
