Notre Dame Preparatory School announced today that it has hired Autumn Hegner as head varsity dance coach, effective immediately. Hegner replaces Jenna Helinski, who has taken another position in northern Michigan.
With more than nine years of dance experience, Hegner comes to Notre Dame from 2nd Street Studio of Dance in Rochester, Mich., where she served as instructor. She also has instructor experience at Diamond Dancer School of Dance in Waterford, Mich., and has been an instructor at the Kensington Church Arts Program.
Hegner has 16 years of dance experience in ballet, 15 years in jazz dancing and 14 years experience in tap/lyrical dancing.
Hegner currently is pursuing a degree as a dance major at Oakland University where she has served as a captain on the dance team. She also served as captain of the dance team at her high school, Stoney Creek High School.
