From a news release dated March 15, 2019.
PONTIAC, Mich. — Notre Dame Preparatory School and Marist Academy announced today that businessman and entrepreneur Tim Easterwood has made a $1 million gift to prepare its students for careers in science and technology.
Last August, the school opened a 26,000 square foot wing that includes new and renovated science laboratories, collaborative learning classrooms, a state-of-the-art lab for its award-winning robotics program and two fine arts studios.
In recognition of Mr. Easterwood’s contribution to Notre Dame, the school's Board of Trustees voted to rename the new wing in his honor. Effective immediately, the wing will be called the “Timothy J. Easterwood Science, Art and Technology Wing.”
“Mr. Easterwood has given our students the opportunity to study, collaborate and learn in what I believe to be one of the finest STEM facilities in Michigan,” said Andy Guest, Notre Dame's head of school. “It also allows us to continue to transform our campus into one that provides all of our students, from pre-kindergarten through high school, with an exceptional educational experience rooted in our Catholic faith.”
Mr. Easterwood, whose daughter, Ella, is a sophomore at Notre Dame, said “I’m pleased to invest in the school’s increasing footprint in STEM education and confident that current and future students of Notre Dame Prep will be even more prepared and successful in their chosen careers because of this state-of-the-art building.”
A naming ceremony will be held on Tuesday, May 7, at 3 p.m.
Mr. Easterwood co-founded and serves as Co-Chief Executive Officer of BonusDrive, LLC. BonusDrive is a digital marketing services provider specializing in affinity-based customer acquisitions and perks, which are distributed through hundreds of affinity marketing partners, including insurance companies, employer groups, financial institutions and associations.
He previously co-founded and was the Chief Executive Officer of Voluntary Benefit Solutions, LLC, and the American Residential Group, LLC. He received a bachelor’s degree from Northern Michigan University and a master's degree from the University of Detroit Mercy.
