To honor Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Notre Dame's middle division held a Pink Out day on Thursday, October 10. Students and staff wore pink clothing and they handed out pink ribbons to everyone who entered the school.
"The kids were invited to honor a survivor or remember a loved one by tracing their hands and writing the name of the family member or friend on a colorful banner," Brenda Kambakhsh, the middle division's International Baccalaureate coordinator, said. "An honor tree was placed outside the school's chapel where the Notre Dame community was invited to add the name of their own loved ones to a pink ribbon and place it on the tree."
Donations also were accepted for The Pink Fund, a non-profit organization providing short term non-medical assistance to breast cancer patients in active treatment. For more information see www.thepinkfund.org.
