Notre Dame’s Quiz Bowl team finished a strong second on April 9 in the inaugural CHSL Quiz Bowl Championship, which was held at Novi Detroit Catholic Central High School.
The team, consisting of juniors Chase Glasser, Richard Frost, Maddie Allard, Calvin Burns and senior Andrew Olejniczak, bested the teams of Mercy, Divine Child, and Cabrini before advancing to the finals against Sacred Heart, where the title was decided on the final question.
Olejniczak said he was elated with the team’s finish at DCC and told them so. “I just want to congratulate and thank all of you for participating yesterday in our finish in the Catholic League Championship tournament,” he said. “We have all come so far over the last three years. I remember our first year that we were just happy to be .500, but now we are a threat to win every tournament in which we participate.”
NDP’s team looks to continue its solid performance with a strong showing at the National Championships in Dallas over Memorial Day.
