Yesterday, Notre Dame computer science teacher Katrina Palushaj, who said the trip was “a real success,” took a group of Notre Dame students from her Honors CAD class to the North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) 2014 Education Day at Cobo Center in Detroit.
The Education Day began at the 2005 NAIAS as an opportunity for schools to participate in a positive and valuable educational experience at one of the world's biggest auto shows.
NAIAS 2015 Chairman Scott LaRiche said he believes Education Day helps inspire some of the next generation of automotive leaders.
"Exposure to different career paths, including those that use Science, Technology, Reading, Engineering, Art, and Mathematics (STREAM), is vital to our domestic automotive industry," LaRiche said. "It's one of the many aspects that students can explore at this unique educational event, and NAIAS is pleased to provide this opportunity to our community of young people."
Notre Dame counseling director Vlado Salic also accompanied the students to the show.
