Notre Dame 7th-grader Amanda Kostiz was given a big shoutout last week for her work with Heavenly Paws of Michigan, an Oakland County organization that assists those who are no longer able to provide wellness care for their pets.
In a posting on the organization’s Facebook page, Heavenly Paws acknowledged Kostiz’s efforts on behalf of animals in need of help in the metro Detroit area.
From Heavenly Paws of Michigan (Nov. 2, 2016):
“Today we want to acknowledge one of our wonderful volunteers. Amanda Kostiz is a 7th grader at Notre Dame Marist Academy and she has a heart of gold! Amanda started volunteering for Heavenly Paws when she was 9 years old. She asked for money and dog/cat supplies for her birthday so she could donate them to Heavenly Paws. Through this beautiful gesture, she is spreading awareness of animals in need to her friends and classmates. Amanda has continued to raise money and volunteer at adoption events. We are all so touched by Amanda's generous spirit and love for animals. Thank you for all you do to help save the lives of homeless animals Amanda! You are an angel!!”
