This weekend the NDP equestrian team will compete in the Michigan Interscholastic Horsemanship Association Regionals in Mason, Mich. It's the first trip for the Irish to the regionals.
The team will compete against riders from Airport, Bedford, Belleville, Carleton, Dansville, Mason, Morenci and Romeo high schools for the Region E Championship.
The two-day event will include a variety of riding disciplines. Saturday's competition include Saddle Seat, Hunt Seat, Over Fences and Speed. On Sunday, the events include Western, Keyhole, Reigning and 2-Man Relay.
The competition, which begins at 8 a.m. Saturday takes place at the Ingham County Fairgrounds, 700 E. Ash St., Mason, Mich.
