Notre Dame Prep is scheduled to host admissions personnel from the University of Notre Dame on October 14 for a "Notre Dame Information Night," the only Michigan stop scheduled thus far for the university's admissions department during the fall.
According to Vlado Salic, NDP's director of counseling, UND does not do these information nights that often or at many schools, "so it's pretty special." He said besides NDP, the next closest location is at a school near Dayton, Ohio.
LeShane Saddler, who is the University of Notre Dame associate director of admissions for the midwest region, will be hosting the event, which will be open to Notre Dame Prep students and parents as well as those from other area schools.
As of late spring, the University of Notre Dame had admitted 3,577 students out of a total pool of 18,156 applicants for this term, according to the admissions office. These admitted students attended 2,036 high schools from around the world, with an expected final undergrad enrollment of this year's class at 2,010 students.
UND admissions says the profile of the typical admitted student places them among the top 1% in the nation in their high school class performance and/or national test scores, with academic profiles among the top 15 in the nation for national research universities. Notre Dame also said that more than half of the incoming class received scholarship aid from Notre Dame’s endowment fund.
Salic said more details on Notre Dame's Information Night as well as an upcoming first-time visit by Georgetown University will be made available soon.
