ND Marist Parent Workshop A Big Success; Info Still Available

Notre Dame's middle division hosted a health and wellness workshop for parents on April 9. This special workshop session included discussions on the diagnosis and treatment of childhood behavioral challenges and whether or not we are over-treating them with medication.

Over 40 parents attended and middle-school counselor Kim Smith says those that missed attending can still contact her for additional information. ksmith@ndpma.org or 248-373-5371 ext: 8037.

Featured speaker:
Frank J. Granett R.ph. (pharmacist)

Additional speakers:
Cindy Crandell R.N., C.N. (nutritionist)
Dr. Chris Bennett (chiropractor)
Dr. Doris Coca (internal medicine)

Some of the comments after the workshop:
> "Thank you very much for discussing a sensitive and confusing subject! I appreciated the diverse speakers and treatment modalities."

> "This workshop was very informative. I wish I would have heard of the CAOOY a couple of years ago. A lot of what was talked about helped me understand ADD from a very different, physiological perspective."
