Middle Division Robotics Team Wins Regional Competition

The robotics team from Notre Dame's middle division earned a win this past weekend at the Temperance FTC Qualifier held at Bedford Junior High School in Temperance, Mich.

The team participated as captains of the "winning alliance" and as such chose the teams Loose Screws, from Bedford, and The Trojanbots, from Jackson, to be in their alliance. The alliance also won the Controls Award and also were finalist in two other awards. The team is now on their way to competing in the State FTC Robotics Competition on December 21 and 22 in Marshall.

A big congratulations to team members Christian Andre, Malini Mukherji, Varsha Nama, Asha Raghaven and Maxwell Wenaas. And a thank you goes to coaches Peter Stouffer and Todd Outman, and mentors Perry Outman (NDP Sophomore) and Jack Stouffer (NDP 2013 alum).

FIRST Tech Challenge (FTC) is part of the FIRST family of programs. FTC in Michigan is geared for upper middle school students who want to compete head to head using a sports model. Teams are tasked with designing, building, and programming their robots to compete on a 12' X 12' field in an alliance format against other teams. This year's competition is called "Block Party."
