Landscaping This Week at New Lower Division

This week brought continued progress on Notre Dame's new lower division school building.

Landscaping activity during the past few days included sprinkler-system installation, ornamental bush and tree planting as well as the setting of brick columns and fence posts that will support the six-foot fence around the perimeter of the school grounds. School officials say the fence will match what surrounds the main campus and enhance security for the new 12-classroom building, which will house students in junior-kindergarten through fifth grade.

Inside, finishing touches continue to be made in both the classroom building and administration center. New basketball backboards were installed in the large activity room located in the admin. center, and painting, tilework and wiring are being wrapped up in anticipation of the move in of desks and furniture.

The first full day of classes is August 22.
