In two interviews conducted by Bloomfield Community Television in recent months, Notre Dame Head of School Andy Guest discusses NDPMA's continuum of mission-based academics that begin in pre-kindergarten in the lower school and ends in a focused college-prep education in the upper school.
He also talks about how there is a difference in what Notre Dame offers versus what some of the best public schools in southeast Michigan offer to students and families.
"I do think there's a difference," Guest said to Bill Seklar, the president and CEO of The Community House. "Public schools in our area usually are bigger, so they may not have the same individualized attention or small class sizes that we have."
And faith is a big differentiator, Guest added. He said that when a student comes to a faith-based school, whether it be Catholic, Jewish, Hindu, etc., you can practice your faith daily.
"In our case, our students go to religion class every day, we pray every day before school starts and at the end of each day, we celebrate liturgy on a regular basis," he said."So we're able to live our faith throughout the school year."
"And when you combine that with our outstanding academics, we believe it's a combination that really works well for us."
