NDP senior Lauren McGrath finished second overall at the MHSAA regional cross country meet last weekend at Goodells County Park in Goodells, Mich. Junior Nathan Mylenek led the NDP boys by taking second place overall with a time of 16:23, narrowly missing the top slot by a single second.
At the MHSAA cross country regionals last weekend at Goodells County Park, the Notre Dame Prep boys and girls teams finished on top. It's the first time an NDP’s cross country team took a regional championship.
Junior Nathan Mylenek led the boys by taking second place overall with a time of 16:23, narrowly missing the top slot by a single second. While also setting a new career best time, Mylenek’s time cracks the NDP “top 15” list and ranks as the 14th fastest time in school history.
Sophomore Brendan Fraser (16:51) followed with a fifth-place overall finish. Other scorers for the Irish were junior Drew Guest (21st, 17:45), senior Danny Rose (22nd, 17:47), and freshman Nico Fraser (26th, 17:56). Guest, Rose, and Nico Fraser all ran career best times.

From Coach TJ Kulick shortly after the conclusion of the race: “This truly was a team accomplishment. These trophies belong to the entire team, not just the runners who ran today’s race. Today’s result was a product of everyone’s season-long hard work and everyone’s contribution to the culture of the program.”
