Also, opportunity for students to gain service hours
Mark your calendars for the “Hearts Aglow” 10-Year Anniversary Gala for the Catholic Community Response Team (CCRT) on Saturday, March 1, 2014, at the Notre Dame cafeteria (6:30-9:30 p.m.). The evening will include craft beer and wine tasting, appetizers and a silent auction.
Many of our neighbors in Pontiac need our help. Twenty-nine percent of the residents live in poverty, including 50% of the children. In its ten-year history, the Catholic Community Response Team has provided direct, referral and support services for over 5,000 people living in the Pontiac area. These services include food, clothing, shelter assistance, utility support and many more.
CCRT says it is always a struggle to meet the needs of their ever-growing client base. Thus, they are planning this fundraiser to commemorate 10 years of service and to garner additional financial support for its many programs. All proceeds raised from this event will be used solely to assist low-income residents of Pontiac.
NDPMA parents and friends are invited to attend this fun event and help those in need while doing so. To purchase tickets ($40 each), please contact Joe Pauwels (joseph.pauwels@sbcglobal.net or 248-736-1150).
Service-hour opportunity for high school students
This also is an opportunity for high school students to earn their much-needed service hours. CCRT is in need of help during the afternoon and evening of the gala and they encourage students to participate. Help is needed with:
– parking lot attendants
– set-up
– coat check
– welcoming
– microphone-video coordinator
– food servers
– auction gift transport
– clean-up
– table clearing
If you would like to volunteer, please contact Joe Pauwels (joseph.pauwels@sbcglobal.net or
248-736-1150).
Thank you for your consideration to support this very important event and CCRT’s mission to help the Pontiac community.
