On Monday, April 25, the third of a planned series of career presentations by Notre Dame alums will be held in the school’s board room.
The focus of the event, which begins at 8 a.m., will be education and to-date three Notre Dame graduates have agreed to participate. In November, a number of alums spoke to a large group of Notre Dame students about careers in the healthcare industry.
Notre Dame Prep graduate ('98) and ND Alumni Association Chair Scott Lockhart, who helped organize the event with Alumni Director Beth Campbell, said the association is pleased to continue matching current student interest with alumni professionals across a range of disciplines.
“The overwhelming student demand for this type of assembly is consistently being met by wonderful alumni ranging from Notre Dame’s Class of 1958 through the Class of 2009 who have shared a multitude of paths to successful careers in many different industries,” he said.
Alumni scheduled to speak at Monday’s career day are:
Laura (Pollock) Farchone ’00 (NDP): Spent 11 years as an elementary school teacher in the Lake Orion school district; Michigan State University undergrad.
Richard Vanden Boom ’02 (NDP): Current principal at Our Lady of the Lakes; Western Michigan University undergrad, Montana State University master’s.
John Henke ’58 (NDHS): Professor of Marketing at Oakland University, Eastern Michigan University undergrad, M.S. from Cornell University, M.B.A. and Ph.D. Michigan State University.
Students should register in the counseling office by Friday, April 22.
