Gregory Simon Moves To Advancement

Simon-66123718-WSGregory Simon, who has been Notre Dame's dean of admissions and diversity for nine years, has joined the school's advancement department as annual fund director. In this position, which begins for him January 15, Simon will plan and manage the annual-giving component of advancement as part of a coordinated overall fundraising effort.
 
NDPMA Vice President for Advancement Andy Guest said he is delighted to welcome Simon to his staff. "Greg’s unparalleled experience and deep personal constituent relationships with both alumni and parents are expected to be great assets in his new role," Guest said. "The Notre Dame Annual Fund is the single, largest fundraising initiative for the school and has generated more than $840,000 in unrestricted giving over the last two years, and we look forward to continued success in the future."
 
Simon has been with NDPMA for 19 years, 10 of which were as a social studies and government teacher in the upper division. He also has served the school as a basketball and baseball coach, student council moderator and assistant athletic director.
 
Simon holds a B.A. in history and political science from Michigan State University and an M.A. in school leadership from Oakland University. He is a 1989 graduate of Notre Dame High School in Harper Woods. 
 
Looking very much forward to his new responsibilities, Simon said he can't wait to spend his days reconnecting with the students, parents and fellow alums he has come to know over his years at Notre Dame. "I feel so fortunate to have had the chance to share the ND experience with so many great young people and their parents," he said. "I know we can continue to build on the amazing story that is Notre Dame!"
