Already setting itself apart as the only Catholic International Baccalaureate for junior kindergarten through 12th grade in the United States, Notre Dame Preparatory and Marist Academy has taken another innovative step by declaring its independence.

Notre Dame has become an independent non-profit Michigan school and purchased its main campus at Giddings and Walton on Pontiac’s north side from the Archdiocese of Detroit for $4.64 million, said Andy Guest, vice president of the campus.
