The athletic department of Notre Dame Preparatory School announced today that Marc White has rejoined the Fighting Irish athletics staff as head coach of boys golf, effective immediately. White replaces Steve Vecellio.
A 27-year member of the PGA, White comes to Notre Dame Prep as owner/operator of Marc White Golf Training Studio located in Clarkston, Mich., and PGA supervisor of instruction at Oakhurst Golf and Country Club, also in Clarkston. He was Notre Dame Prep's boys coach from 2009 to 2011 and coached the team to a state championship in 2009.
White also has served as PGA head professionals at Mulligan's Golf Learning Center in Auburn Hills and Petoskey Bay View Country Club in Petoskey, Mich. He is level-2 certified as a Titleist Performance Institute golf fitness instructor and is staff member at Great Lakes Athletic club, heading up golf fitness classes throughout the winter months.
He has had more than 25 students go on to play at the university level and was featured in both the PGA and Hour Detroit magazines. In addition, he is a 1993 winner of the Bobby Jones Award, Northern Chapter—Michigan Section, PGA.
White is a graduate of Central Michigan University and also has completed level-1 and level-2 TPI golf fitness instructor certification.
