Scholarship Program Benefit Event to be Held Nov. 1

The Ric Gonzalez Memorial Foundation’s annual benefit dinner and bocce-ball tournament is scheduled for Nov. 1 at Palazzo Di Bocce in Lake Orion. The Ric Gonzalez Foundation has been providing college scholarships, including to some NDP alums, since 2004. The program was formed after the passing of Ric Gonzalez, co-founder of automotive- and aerospace-supplier Gonzalez Design Group, which is based in Madison Heights.

Since the scholarship was established, the RGMF has been providing scholarships to deserving Hispanic youth in southeast Michigan planning to attend a college or university of their choice. In 2012, Notre Dame Prep seniors Torez Ortez and Andrew Stupka were awarded scholarships from the fund, the sixth year in a row that Notre Dame Prep students have been awarded RGMF scholarships. Applicants are evaluated on the following criteria: academic record, strength of application essays, community service and personal qualities.

Check the foundation’s website: www.rgmf.net or call 248-548-3160 for more information. The event flyer is available here.
