NDP junior Luke Mullis finished no. 1 in his age category at the 2014 Iceman Cometh Challenge, a 30-mile point-to-point mountain bike race from Kalkaska to Traverse City, Michigan.
The race was held Saturday and featured more than 5,000 mountain bike racers from the U.S., Canada and around the world.
Mullis raced in the Rider-MYC Scholarship Men 15-16 group and finished ahead of all others in his category with a time of 2:48:16.
Mullis’ sister Danielle, who graduated from Notre Dame in May, finishes fifth in her group with a 3:18:07 time.
Pinckney native Brian Matter was the overall winner of the race, his fourth win, giving him the most in the event's 25-year history. Matter’s winning time was 1:56:54.
In its 25th year, the Iceman Cometh Challenge began in 1990.
