Two from Notre Dame receive the 2018 NSCA All-American Athlete of the Year award

Seniors Brian Blakeslee and Joe DePillo recognized for their outstanding accomplishments as student-athletes by national strength and conditioning association.

The National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) is proud to announce Notre Dame Prep seniors Brian Blakeslee and Joe DePillo as 2018 All-American Athlete of the Year Award recipients. This award recognizes Blakeslee and DePillo’s athletic accomplishments and their dedication to strength and conditioning. Nominated by NDPMA strength and conditioning coach Jake Siebert, the two NDP seniors' determination to improve in athletics while maintaining academic prominence is a great model for all student-athletes at Notre Dame Preparatory School and Marist Academy.

"A soccer and baseball student-athlete, Brian is a competitive team-leader who loves the challenges of strength and conditioning," Siebert said. "After a lower-leg injury his junior soccer season, Brian dedicated himself to the weight room in order to be successful on the playing field. His work ethic paid off as he helped his team win their second district championship in a row during his senior soccer season.

"A multi-sport athlete (football, basketball, baseball), Joe consistently trains to improve his abilities for his sports all-year round," added Siebert. "His work ethic is second to none. He is the example of a student-athlete that uses strength and conditioning to better himself on the playing field."

Coach Scott Caulfield, the NSCA’s head strength and conditioning coach said, “We are proud to have Jake Siebert as a member of the NSCA to ensure athlete safety and improve athletic performance. Supporting NSCA-certified coaches and student-athletes like Brian and Joe is the foundation the NSCA is built on.”
