Notre Dame alumni to be featured.
When the Notre Dame Prep and Marist choirs perform tomorrow at Oakland University's Varner Hall, the Chamber Choir, Irishmen, Women’s Chorus and members of the Freshmen Chorus will be presenting a music cantata entitled “Joy, Unspeakable Joy.”
"The music will help tell the story of the joy of Christmas and the salvation that Christians around the world have through Jesus Christ," said David Fazzini, Notre Dame's choir director. "Also, we will feature a number of members from Notre Dame's theatre department, who will be delivering skits telling the story of our Savior’s birth from different perspectives. Faith Knill, a senior at NDP, will sing a selected solo on 'Noel' by Chris Tomlin."
Fazzini also said the choirs on Tuesday will be joined by 2007 NDP alum Monica Notaro, who will be the featured soloist in the cantata. Monica performs as a professional singer in the metro Detroit area both as a soloist and as a member of a number of local musical groups.
"We also are featuring another alum, Jake Matthews ('13), on the drums," Fazzini said. "Jake is finishing up his music studies at Wayne State University." More on Jake Matthews is here.
Oakland University's Varner Hall is located at 371 Varner Dr, Rochester, Much. 48309
