Notre Dame Preparatory School and Marist Academy Athletic Director Betty Wroubel announced today that Maureen Whidden has accepted the position of assistant athletic director effective this month. Whidden replaces Megan Thayer who was named athletic director of Bishop Foley High School in Madison Heights, Mich.
Whidden comes to Notre Dame from Houghton Lake High School in Houghton Lake, Mich., where she served as athletic director for the 600-student coed school. While at Houghton Lake, she was a member of the adjunct faculty at Baker College in Cadillac, Mich., and prior to this was an assistant manager of operations at the U.S. Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, Colo.
Whidden, who has twin five-year-old boys, is a certified athletic administrator and holds a B.S. in business administration and an M.A. in sports administration from Central Michigan University.
