Notre Dame teams sweep the first four spots in annual robotics final; five teams qualify for world championship.
Following Saturday’s state championship win by a robotics team from the lower division, a team from Notre Dame’s middle division brought home another state title on Sunday after defeating 31 other teams in the VEX IQ Middle School Michigan State Championship, which was held at Charlotte Middle School in Charlotte, Mich. On Saturday, Team K of Notre Dame’s VEX IQ lower division robotics group came out on top of the competition.
Team 3333B, “The Engineers who say Ni,” finished first followed by Notre Dame’s Team 3333A, 3333X and 3333P. As a result of the big win yesterday, the teams of 6th graders automatically qualifies for the VEX IQ World Championship, which will be held in April in Louisville, Kentucky. They will be joined by the following Notre Dame middle division teams The Followers of Zaza – 3333P, The X-Factor – 3333X, Yellow Jackets – 3333Y and RoboFalcons – 3333A.
Also, in yesterday’s state competition, The X-Factor – 3333X earned the Design Award and the Yellow Jackets – 3333Y won the Excellence Award.
