Rev. Fr. Evangelos (Angelo) Mago, a Greek Orthodox priest serving in Grand Blanc, Mich., visited Notre Dame Prep this week to discuss Eastern Christianity with sophomores in Ryan Delaney’s religion class.
According to Delaney, Mago graduated from the Florida Institute of Technology with a degree in mechanical engineering and served 10 years in the U.S. Army. He also spent time working for General Motors before getting a Master of Divinity degree in 2007 and becoming a Greek Orthodox priest.
Mago, who was married in 1984 to his wife, Teri, is pastor of Assumption Greek Orthodox Church in Grand Blanc. He also enjoys world traveling and flying his Piper Archer airplane. This is the fourth year he has spoken to the sophomore religion classes about the liturgy and spirituality of Eastern Christianity, said Delaney.
