Equestrian Team Scores Well in First Meet of Season

equestrian-158-wsNotre Dame Prep's equestrian team participated in its first meet of the season this past weekend held at the Oakland County Fairgrounds in Davisburg.

The Irish scored 108 points, missing first place by a single point. NDP junior Mary Schmid scored 40 points, followed by junior Jillian Morisette with 54 points, Alyssa Huth (freshman) with nine points and Margaret Henige (freshman) with five points. The team competes again this weekend and if the Irish win, they go to the regional championship meet held Sept. 28-29 at the Ingham County Fairgrounds.
 
Notre Dame Prep's equestrian team competes against other district 2 schools, including Bloomfield Hills, Clarkston and Marian high schools.
