Notre Dame Prep junior varsity volleyball coach Tina McLaughlin was named by the region 15 coaches (MIVCA) as regional non-varsity head coach of the year. This honor is one of two new awards that the Michigan Interscholastic Volleyball Coaches Association initiated this year to recognize the efforts and contributions of non-varsity coaches to the growth of volleyball. The award could go to a high-school varsity assistant, junior varsity or freshman coach.
This season, McLaughlin’s team went undefeated on their way to an eighth straight divisional title. She will receive her award at MIVCA's annual conference in late July. McLaughlin currently is in her seventh year of teaching at Notre Dame's lower division (4th grade).
