On Tuesday, Nov. 1, 2016, Notre Dame Preparatory School and Marist Academy will launch its new annual fund drive, "Once, (for Every Student, Every Day)," with the operative word being “once.”
This means that for Notre Dame’s many generous benefactors, it takes a contribution to The Notre Dame Fund "just once" during the school’s fiscal year (July 1, 2016 to June 30, 2017) to make a huge difference in sustaining the school’s mission.
“We’ve been saying that contributing to the NDF just once will help improve the lives of more than 1,100 young people and help them become Christian people, upright citizens and academic scholars,” said Gregory Simon, the director of The Notre Dame Fund.
“The first semester has been a whirlwind of activity here on campus,” Simon said. “From our new theatre classes to the Make It Matter day of service, band practices to team meals, from 3-year olds to our senior class, the mission is alive and growing in every student, every day."
He added that the lively and bustling Notre Dame campus reminds him again and again of why Notre Dame is truly a special place.
“And our generous Irish family can continue to make this all possible by donating to The Notre Dame Fund just once each school year,” he said. "Once a year means we can offer four theatre productions, once positions us to offer 150+ courses across the curriculum; or music across all three divisions; or training for our skilled, committed and professional teachers. Donating once a year supports 40+ sports and 60+ teams, campus ministry, service and faith-formation, and the 150+ families getting the tuition boost they need to come to Notre Dame.”
Simon said the goal for The Notre Dame Fund this school year is to raise $600,000.
“As an independent non-profit, we are proud to ask for support because tuition just isn’t enough to run, improve and sustain our wonderful school,” Simon said. “We are also proud that 100% of each charitable donation benefits our students today and every day. All of this and more by giving just once. Just once!”
