Notre Dame lower division and its art teacher, Michelle Zimmerman, have earned the Meemic Foundation’s classroom enrichment grant, which was formally accepted September 15 in the school, which is located at Walton Blvd.and Giddings Rd..
Lower division principal Diana Atkins and several students joined Zimmerman in the presentation ceremony when Debbie Peszko from the John M. Ploskonka Agency delivered the award. Zimmerman applied for the grant by joining Meemic’s Foundation Club (free) and submitting an application online. The foundation offers grants for a variety of school and classroom projects through local suppliers. Meemic Foundation is affilated with the Meemic Insurance Company, which serves members of the educational community in Illinois, Michigan and Wisconsin.
“We are excited that supplier Quill.com will send Zimmerman and Notre Dame $100 worth of art supplies for their students to use,” said Meemic in a statement.
