On the heels of Monday’s celebration and presentation of extended essays for International Baccalaureate Diploma Program senior candidates and the juniors who will follow them next school year, Notre Dame sponsored a trip Wednesday to Oakland University for the juniors in the IB program.
In an effort to help the juniors learn about accessing research and data that will be necessary for their own extended essays next year, IB-DP coordinator Kim Anderson took the students to OU’s Kresge Library where they met with Beth Wallis, who is an associate professor and coordinator of instruction for there university.
“Beth showed our students how to access a college-level database in order to find scholarly articles for sources for their extended essays,” Anderson said. “The hope is that they will use this info to return on their own this spring and summer while working on their EEs.”
The students also will be spending time today at the Kresge Library to continue their tour and library session.
