Irish Hand #1 Dewitt First Loss to Advance in Regional

The Notre Dame Girls Varsity Soccer team handed #1-ranked Dewitt its first loss of the season with a 2-1 win on Tuesday in the MHSAA regional semifinal round. The Panthers (19-1-2) scored the opening goal of the game less than five minutes in when a deflected shot by Mackenzie Dawes just found its way over the line. Several Athletes Take Home CHSL Awards

Notre Dame was well-represented at the 41st annual Catholic High School League scholar-athlete recognition banquet held at DeCarlo Banquet and Conference Center this past Monday. Six Irish senior athletes were named as scholar-athlete award winners in their respective sports while several others were finalists. Softball Takes Tenth Straight District

Notre Dame Varisty Softball took its tenth straight district title as they defeated Avondale 5-2 and Marian 12-5. The wins helped the Irish improve to 31-4 on the year and finish the season undefeated at home. In the opening game Notre Dame struck first as they plated 2 runs in the opening inning. Junior 3rd baseman Maddie McClune opened up the game with a single and scored on a ground out and junior pitcher Caley Gleason doubled and scored on a Madeleine Fazio single.
