Notre Dame’s Shilling named state Gatorade baseball player of the year

Notre Dame’s Luke Shilling, who just graduated as part of the school’s Class of 2015, was named today the Michigan Gatorade State Baseball Player of the Year. The Gatorade State Baseball Players of the Year were selected based on athletic production and impact in the 2014-15 season. Each winner also demonstrated high academic achievement and exemplary personal character, including volunteerism, sportsmanship and community leadership. New field turf included in capital projects approved by Notre Dame board

At the April 2015 meeting of Notre Dame Preparatory School and Marist Academy’s Board of Trustees, a number of capital projects totaling more than $750,000 were approved to move forward throughout this summer.    One of the biggest projects will be the installation of new synthetic turf on the William Kozyra Alumni Field. Irish Send 10 to State Finals, Set 3 School Records at Regional Meet

At last Saturday’s Division II Regional at South Lyon East High School, Notre Dame’s Track and Field team produced four individual champions and a relay champion, vaulting a total of ten athletes to next week’s Division II State Finals.  Along the way, three separate Notre Dame records were broken. Winning regional championships for the Irish in individual events were senior Andrea Pangori in the high jump, sophomore Brendan Fraser in the 3200m run, senior Lauren McGrath in the 800m run, and junior Nathan Mylenek in both the 1600m and 800m runs.
