Texas Rangers Select NDP Pitcher Shilling

Notre Dame right handed pitcher Luke Shilling was selected in the 20th round (588th overall) by the Texas Rangers in the 2015 MLB draft.  Shilling joins Brother Rice outfielder Nick Plummer, who went 23rd overall to St. Louis, and Grant Wolfram from Hamilton High School as the only other Michigan high school players to be selected. After three straight years of playing in the girls soccer state championship game, Birmingham Marian will have to watch the rest of this year's Division 2 state tournament play out from a distance. The Mustangs suffered a heartbreaking 1-0 overtime setback to Pontiac Notre Dame Prep Saturday afternoon in the district championship game played at Avondale High School.
