Notre Dame defeated Detroit Country Day in straight sets to win their 9th straight district title and 18th title in the last 20 years. The Irish improve to 46-9-5 and advance to the MHSAA regional semi-final round where they will take on Marysville (48-4-2) next Tuesday at Imlay City. Fraser, Mylenek lead Notre Dame Prep to D2 regional title

WATERFORD – Pontiac Notre Dame Prep’s Brendan Fraser found himself in second place for much of the Division 2 regional race Saturday at Hess Hathaway Park. But it didn’t matter since teammate, Nathan Mylenek, was the guy in front. Even so, Fraser eventually passed him to place first in 16:02, relegating Mylenek to second (16:27) as the Irish captured the regional crown. Notre Dame Prep opens playoffs with big win over Marysville

PONTIAC — Statistics can be misleading. For instance, when looking at total yardage, where Marysville outgained Pontiac Notre Dame Prep 390-328 in a Division 4 pre-district playoff game, it’d be hard to predict the Irish won 54-13.
