Three Track Records Set at CHSL Tri-Meet

The Notre Dame Boys and Girls Track teams ran against Riverview Gabriel Richard and Ann Arbor Father Gabriel Richard in a CHSL double-dual meet hosted by Riverview. The boys team took two wins by topping  Riverview 95-32 and FGR 89-44 while the girls team came away with a split, beating Riverview 95-31, but falling to the FGR 76-50. Three school boys records were either broken or matched on the day.  Senior Patrick Anger broke his own long jump record with a leap of 20’ 1”, taking first place in the event.  Anger was also first in the 200m dash with a time of 24.41. The boys 4x100m relay team consisting of senior Brendan O’Sullivan, senior Chris Wardlow, senior Matthew Durkin, and Anger set a new record with a time of 44.82.  Durkin also matched a 21 year-old record in the high jump, clearing 6’ 0”, and placing first.  In the 100m dash, Durkin was first in 11.28. Other notable performances were turned in by senior Aidan Schurig, first in the 400m dash (53.62), senior Nathan Mylenek, winner in the 1600m run (4:33.52), and junior Brendan Fraser, first in the 3200m run (9:44.31).  Senior Andrew Durkin won the 110m hurdles in 17.46. For the girls, senior Claire Bolden led the way with a clean sweep in the sprints; 100m dash (12.87), 200m dash (26.53), and 400m dash (1:00.29).  Sophomore Lauren Neiheisel took top billing in the 800m run (2:29.24).  In the long jump, sophomore Maddie Scherle was first with a jump of 13’ 7.75”. In relays, the  team consisting of freshman Katelyn Kozole, freshman Paige Gollinger, senior Chanel Dore, and senior Caitlin Fitzgerald won the 4x100m relay in 56.24. Both teams will compete next this Saturday at the Oxford Invitational.
