Texas Rangers Select NDP Pitcher Shilling

Notre Dame right handed pitcher Luke Shilling was selected in the 20th round (588th overall) by the Texas Rangers in the 2015 MLB draft.  Shilling joins Brother Rice outfielder Nick Plummer, who went 23rd overall to St. Louis, and Grant Wolfram from Hamilton High School as the only other Michigan high school players to be selected. As a senior, Shilling finished with a 7-1 record with a 0.70 ERA and 104 strikeouts in 49 2/3 innings. He  has signed on to pitch next season at the University of  Illinois if he does not sign.
