Staskowski Takes State Title; Irish Place 13th

The Notre Dame Girls Varsity Golf team placed 13th out of 18 teams at the D3 State Finals Tournament at held at Michigan State University’s Forest Akers West. The Irish shot a day one score of 399 before turning in a 401 on day two for a cumulative score of 800.

For the second consecutive year Dani Staskowski earned an individual state championship, firing  a two-day, even par score of 144 (72-72). Staskowski finished the tournament with an eagle, five birdies and seven bogeys and topped second place Serena Nguyen of Lutheran North by 9 strokes.

Danielle Wagner (212), Sabrina Fitzgerald (214) and Julia Wintermantel (230) also factored into the Notre Dame scoring.

Lutheran North took the overall team title a score of 697.
