Soccer Claims Second Straight District Title

The Notre Dame Boys Varsity Soccer team picked up a 4-2 win over Marysville High School to claim their second consecutive MHSAA Division II District title.

The Irish did not waste any time getting on the board as Brian Blakeslee scored his first of two goals just five minutes into the game off of a corner kick with the assist going to Nick Evans. After the Vikings knotted the game at 1-1 heading into halftime Nolan Mylenek drew a foul in the box 9 minutes into the second half and Mitch Morisette would make good on a penalty kick to put Notre Dame up 2-1. Blakelee would add his second goal of the game, deflecting in a free kick by Oscar Guardado and Gabe Myers would seal the win with his first goal (assisted by Danillo Judd).

Notre Dame will now take on Petoskey High School in MHSAA Regional play held in East Lansing.
