Both the Notre Dame Boys and Girls Varsity Ski teams qualified for the MHSAA State Finals meet after strong performances at the MHSAA Regional Championship.
The Boys placed second, finishing 8 points behind champion Cranbrook, while the Girls team took home the regional title by earning a score of 53 points.
Each Notre Dame team took first in the Slalom portion of the race with Joey Warsecke (3rd), Will Grubbs (7th), Nick Schulty (10th), and Mitchel Ballew (14th) leading the way for the Boys team and Katelyn Kozole (1st) KC Kennedy (6th), Julia Jenaway (8th), and Sophia Gunterman (12th) earning top placements for the Girls.
The Girls also took the top spot in the Giant Slalom with Sydney Lintol (2nd), Kozole (6th), Gunterman (7th), and Jenaway (11th) posting the top Irish times while the Boys finished 2nd in their respective race thanks to strong performances by Grubbs (2nd), Warsecke (8th), Noah Schindler (11th), and Ballew (15th).
The MHSAA State Finals will take place on February 27th at Boyne Mountain.
