It was a busy week for the Notre Dame Swim and Dive team as the Irish took on a pair of top Division I teams. On Tuesday, Notre Dame fell to Lake Orion by only 11 points despite being outnumbered by 17 swimmers. Alex Impellizzeri broke his own school-record with a 223 six-dive set and a meet win. The 200 Medley Relay team of Peter McNelis, Carl Wacker, Rudy Aguilar, and Aidan Schurig also earned a state cut and team record time of 1:44.97 against the Dragons. The Irish returned to CHSL action later in the week to take on both Catholic Central and Gabriel Richard. The 200 Medley Relay team made up once again of McNelis, Wacker, Aguilar, and Schurig broke their 2-day old record by recording a time of 1:43.10. Three more school records would also fall during the meet as Aguilar would set times of 2:00.90 in the 200 IM and 53.19 in the 100 Butterfly and the 200 Freestyle Relay team of Schurig, Thomas Robbins, McNelis, and Aguilar would post a 1:34.11, tying CC for first place at the meet. Season best swims were also posted by Zach Vogel in the 200 Freestyle and Nick Hariskos in the 100 Breaststroke. Notre Dame will host Macomb Dakota on Tuesday at Waterford Kettering.
