Notre Dame improved to 7-6-2 by taking the annual invitational tournament held between the Irish, Flushing, Frankenmuth, and Birmingham Groves. Notre Dame began the day with a 1-0 win over Flushing. The only goal of the match came off of a header by Peter Miklas setup by a pass from Nathan Mylenek. Will Baldwin earned his 7th shutout of the season in the victory. The Irish took the second game of the afternoon beating Frankenmuth 2 – 0. Mylenek scored the game-winner with a shot driven off the cross bar from 20 yards out assisted by Danilo Judd. Jack Bryant closed the game out with a perfectly placed PK with under 5 minutes remaining in the match. This victory was the 8th shutout of the year for Notre Dame and left the team needing only a draw to secure the championship. The final match of the day came against a very talented Birmingham Groves team. The Irish struck first on a goal by Miklas midway through the first half assisted by Danny Caton, who was also solid defensively throughout the entire tournament. Groves tallied the equalizer early in the second half but the game would end in a 1-1 draw, giving Notre Dame the tournament title with a 2-0-1 record on the day. The Irish (7-6-2) return to league play against Lutheran North and Ann Arbor Gabriel Richard this week.
