After dropping all three matches in a quad a week ago, the Notre Dame Varsity Volleyball team rebounded with three wins to improve to 9-3 on the year.
The Irish started off with a win over Rochester 25-10, 25-12. Aly Borellis recorded five aces and eight kills in the match while Sophia Sudzina added six kills.
The second matchup saw Notre Dame take on Oxford, who defeated the Irish last week 25-21, 27-25. Notre Dame fell behind by as many as 10 points early in the first set and fought their way back before running out of time as the Wildcats pulled out the 25-19 win. The first set loss seemed to ignite the Irish as they responded with a strong second set, never trailing on their way to a convincing 25-15 win. In the third set, Oxford took an early lead only to see the Irish battle to even the score. There were eight ties and four lead changes before Notre Dame tied the score at 9-9 and then took six of the final nine points to take the set 15-12 and the match. Borellis led the attack with 13 kills, including five in the final set, to go along with a pair of blocks and aces. Emily Mohr added seven kills and three blocks in the win.
In the final match the Irish defeated Holly 25-18, 25 15. Once again Notre Dame was led by Borellis with 12 kills and two aces and Sudzina with six kills. Olivia Kowalkowski was stellar on defense for Notre Dame, finishing with 39 digs for the evening.
