The Notre Dame Varsity Softball team (21-10) split a pair of games with Brandon, losing the first 11-8 and then rebounding in the nightcap to take a 14-2 win in five innings. In the opener Jordan Smith had two hits, scored twice and drove in three runs. Meaghan Orloski had two hits and two RBI while Elena Schwegman had a double to drive a pair of runs in. Lauren Koenig took the loss with relief help from Smith.
The nightcap was all Notre Dame as the Irish scored 14 runs on 13 hits. Koenig went two-for-three with a double and had four RBI. Erika Gordy had two hits, scoring twice. Smith was three-for-four with a double and a home run, scoring two and driving in two. Schwegman had a three-run home run, scored three times and had three RBI. Smith picked up the win, pitching all five innings and striking out two.
